It’s my first crack at this DDoTD thing and I only get to write about one game?  Gee, thanks guys.

Anyways, yesterday was one of those funky one-game days fantasy owners hate (or love, depending on how busy you are).  At least it was a good one.  Too bad most people don’t get NBATV.

The Fig Cap: That’s right, Mr. Classy.  You knock down those shots.  No Jason, JUMPshots.

Ronnie Brewer - Fantasy BasketballWire to Wire aims to be your waiver wire resource for all of your fantasy basketball needs. It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist—all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.

I want to apologize in advance for all of the swingmen listed in this week’s edition of Wire to Wire.  If anything, this shows us that we should never overpay for shooting guards and small forwards on draft day, as there is plenty of value on the wire within the first few weeks of the season.  Later on, we have to count on injuries and trades, but out of the gate is where we’ll see which roles that players have in their respective systems.  With that said, here are this week’s targets for your wholesome waiver wire additions.

Allen Iverson Is So Fly

The Fig Cap: Dayum!  I got skills… hello, ladies.

It’s still very early in the season, so much so some teams haven’t even played one game yet!  However, that doesn’t stop The Fantasy Jump Off from doing its thing and helping you with the 411 for your fantasy basketball team for next week.  So, as we’ll do every week, let’s check out how to maximize your roster and check how many games each NBA team has in Week Two.  Also, check out Dropping Dimes position rankings for Week Two for some extra help!

A week in, and a week smarter.  You can either be very happy where you are or quite upset.  Remember, it’s only week one, so a loss won’t kill you, but if you’re up big right now, good job drafting.  You MUST have listened to the experts here right?

Well anyways, amid Kobe Bryant trade rumors, some interesting coming out parties, and some new minutes-per-game knowledge, here are the rankings for Week Two.

It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist—all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.

Man, it feels good to be back.  After the last few months of mock drafts, expert league results and preseason play, we finally get to put all of our hard work to use.  Dennis has already given you all the primer for the beginning of the season, but what he didn’t dive into too much (thankfully, for job security purposes) were some of the talent that can still be found on waiver wires of all league sizes and formats.  That, ladies and gentlemen, is where I come in.  From this week on, Wire to Wire will give you the low down on the up-and-comers that can help out your fantasy squad.  But enough of the introduction, let’s get into the goods for the premier week of the 2007-08 season.  Enjoy.

Yao Ming - Fantasy BasketballThe opening night of the NBA is upon us.  While I wish that the Golden State/Utah game was one of the two nationally televised games, I guess I can live with San Antonio and Portland.  I saw enough of the Spurs last summer – remember, my Cavs got swept by them in the Finals.  However, I will be watching that game not for Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, but LaMarcus Aldridge and Martell Webster.  Yep, only a fantasy hoops fan would watch a game because of Martell Webster.  We’ll even throw a little Travis Outlaw in there and call it a night.

With that said, I had a chance to read NBA.com’s Where 62 Amazing Things Happen, and decided that it’d be cool to pump out a list of my own.  Oh, and this list will obviously tilt it towards fantasy basketball – as this is, in fact, a fantasy basketball blog.

In no specific order…here are 55 things I wish to come true during this year’s fantasy hoops season.  Enjoy.
